Enpass - Password Manager App Reviews

I love this app

This app is amazing. I keeps all kinds of passwords with tons of templates and simple to use. I couldn’t be on the web without it plus I actually use it for thing other than just storing passwords since it is bascially a database that can hold a lot of stuff. My main password manager is Lastpass but I will never copletely trust one that is online I eed one like this one that is actually on my computer with the data file actually on my computer. The internet does go down sometimes and I may still need a password .

Excellent!

Exactly what I am looking for. You have the option to use local or cloud base. No internet connection required. The cloud syncs across multiply computers, and best of all the encryption is with-in the local machine and not the cloud. Big plus is that it is free! I was using it on a Windows base version for some time and was happy to know it is avaliable for the Apple computer and devices. This made my transition to the Apple world very easy and with less effort.

Not working with 10.10.3

Have used this great app for a long time, but it won’t even open under OS 10.10.3. That could be big trouble if I didn’t have the iPhone version too. This needs to be fixed immediately.

Enpass is the Best !!!!

Well, I must tell you why I think Enpass is the best. After moving from 1 Password over to Enpass 3 years ago, I found the App to run perfectly. It had more options and categories than any other app out there. The most important thing is that it always synced flawlessly. Well, that changed a couple of weeks ago when I found myself looking for data on my IPhone that was entered in Enpass on my Mac. I reached out through the support email on the website and immediately got a response from someone. After spending a few days going back and forth through email trying to correct the problem with no success, I was ready to quit. Finally, Vinod, responded and said he would conduct a Skype session to help me correct the problem. After only five minutes on the call, we solved the problem. The problem was not even with Epass rather that I was syncing to the incorrect Drop Box account. Problem Solved!!!! I never imaged getting tech support from and App, especially one that only cost $10. If you are a mobile person who needs to have access to all their passwords whereever you are, you have to start using Enpass; it;s the best. Vinod, you’re the best, too.

Loved the app within minutes

I’m a designer and my favorite part of this app is the user interface. Beautiful, easy to use, and easy to organize information. I downloaded the app without reading any of the information in the description. It works wonderfully. Super easy to set up. In addition, it syncs to your cloud (i.e. Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.). I manage most of my files in the cloud so being able to use my personal account is great. Since I’m very particular about my preferences, I like to be able to access a lot of settings for my applications. This one gives you all kinds of options including locking the app after a certain amount of time.

Crashes on startup, canned support

Basically as the title states: won’t open, no help. I did some basic troubleshooting, and managed to get it running, temporarily, on one of my machines running 10.10.4, only for it to start crashing again two days later. Similar to another reviewer, I would be wholly out of luck and in serious trouble if I did not have the iOS version. My practice is reliant upon filing insurance claims on a daily basis. If we cannot login, create new accounts, update users’ information, etc., then I go out of business. I contacted support, got a canned reply, and mailed them after five more days passed to say that I sadly had to abandon what was formerly a rock-solid manager. There’s more to this story, but the bottom line is this: for those that use them, people live by their password managers. Users: don’t wait to get caught flat-footed. Make sure whatever solution you select is reliable. For me, Enpass, as of this writing, is unusable. Hope the best for the development group, and that they get things fixed.

Bug in latest version (4.6.1)

Love this app (and its iOS version)! There is a bug in latest version (4.6.1). Open the app and unlock it with your mater password. Afterwords from time to time when you bing up the app again, it won’t accept any input for your mater password to unlock it. From that point on, you have to quit it before you can unlock it. Thanks for the attention.

Good day-to-day experience but please fix the import utility

Enpass works well as a 1Password competitor on iOS and OS X (and, by the way, also Linux, where 1Password fears to tread). I hope that for the desktop versions, browser integration with plugins is on the roadmap; this is a key 1Password feature and Enpass can compete well by adding these. Where I find this desktop version of the product to be very rough around the edges is with the data import. I first attempted to export my entire 1Password DB as a single file containing 350+ records of different types (passwords, secure notes, etc). Enpass did not import correctly and in some cases, records didnt get imported at all. After deleteing everything back out of Enpass, I redid the 1Password export by category. Enpass did better but I also uncovered a pretty serious bug. Enpass - if you are scanning these reviews: Each successive record imported into Enpass contained the data from all of the previous records in the same import file. So, record 1 looked like: Display Name: Foo Password: foo_password URL: foo_url But then record 2 looked like: Display Name: Bar Password: foo_password URL: foo_url Password: bar_password URL: bar_url And record 3: Display Name: Baz Password: foo_password URL: foo_url Password: bar_password URL: bar_url Password: baz_password URL: baz_url I could hand-edit fixes for my category-wise imports when there were a small number of records in the import. However, when I imported my largest category (website logins, 270+ records), this bug created two major problems: 1. If the first record takes one second to import, the amount of time to import R number of records is (R * (R+1)) / 2 seconds, so at 270+ records I was looking at *over ten hours* to import all of those. 2. The CPU on my MacBook Air cranked right up to 11. While this bug does not impact my -daily- use of the app, it is a big problem for customers that are new to the app. I hope you fix it soon, because your decision to support Linux was one of my main reasons for paying for the Pro version of the Enpass app on iOS.

Works perfectly for my needs

I was looking for a password and secure note vault, and am so glad I found Enpass. I use Apple’s keychain daily because of its seemless integration with Safari, but wanted a way to maintain a separate list for all my passwords as a backup for Keychain, and as a way to refer to passwords when I might be on a different computer. Enpass is perfect for that need. Also, since I am in my sixties, there is always the thought of “what if?” Since it works so perfectly with touch ID on my iPhone, I had my son setup his fingerprint, so now, just in case anything were to happen to me, he could gain access to my passwords. I know, it sounds a little morbid, but its one of those things you have to think of when you get older. :) I have been using Enpass for over a year on my Macbook, Windows PC and iPhone, and it has performed flawlessly. I have never had a crash or even a mis-que of any kind.

Great

This is a great App for keeping all your passwords safe. Any site that you log in that requires a password and you have stored in Enpass is quick. Enpass does the job for you, you don’t have to remember you passwords and user names. All your passwords are stored in you computer. Lots of options for organizing your information. This App does the same as other similar and expensive Apps. And the best part is free for the iMac version. I recommend to give it a try nothing to loose.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING A A GREAT PASSWORD MANAGER!

This is truly a simple, clean and speedy password manager. The other ones - even the popular ones - are so boggy, heavy and cumbersome. This truly is a clean interface and a true icloud keychain alternative. Also is backwards compatible for us that dont like the newest of apples operating system(s). The older versions of os x - lion and mountain lion - truly lack a good option for password management without enpass. Highly recommend!

Solid Choice, New And Improved

I liked Enpass over the other options for several reasons. Most other useful options require a monthly, semiannual or yearly subscription and I don’t like that idea at all. I also tried a freeware application for a while that was great but required manual syncing over drop box. I have the iOS version and they use a well developed auto sync. I’ve had no problems with the application so far. Most of the complaints I see are about importing keys from other sources. When I started using EnPass I imported a KeePass file and other than formatting everything came in just fine. Final vote, I would recommend this app.

Great

BEST PASSWORD MANAGER ON THE APP STORE. but im writing a review because they asked me to with a pop up window

Safari Browser Extensions Not Working

I love the idea of releasing new features, but I don’t love the idea of them not working when they’re released. I get an error each time I click the extensions button.

Fantastic app

Fantastic, and very affordable mobile apps. Great UI, and great syncing with multiple clouds. I much prefer that over only syncing with a password safe’s own cloud. For those of you who gave bad reviews because of the non-working browser extensions, please read ALL of the warnings about this from the developers. Apple doesn’t allow certain operations, and they block this from working. If you want browser extension integration, you have to install enpass from the enpass.io website, not the App store. It’s simple, and is not empass’ fault, so stop blaming them.

I use it Everyday!

I was concerened it might slow me down but it actually sped things up and I LOVE it! It has made my life more secure and is incredibly easy to use. I have it on my laptop, desktop, and phone and it does everything I expect it to. I would like if they added more icons for common websites, or make the icons customizable. And it would be great if you could save images in it.

It’s Great!

I use it to keep all of my personal information and passwords safe, and it does a wonderful job. It offers so many services that you can sync with, I use OneDrive it is wonderful. So overall a great password manager.

Simple Easy encrypted

This works great. Password generator and password strengh meter is very helpful. Synch with a nice verity of cloud services. So make sure the cloud service you choose password is a strong one. Use the password generator and meter. The database is really encrypted strongly. So don’t look the password to Enpass. No way to recover. I recommend this.

Great App

I’ve been using this software for over a year now on other platforms. So happy it was here when I swtiched to mac. Well worth the purchase on mobile devices to synchronize across platforms. Thanks devs!!!

Works great, very useful

works well, syncs through iCloud so I always have the correct passwords whether at home or away using the iPhone app. Very handy.
