The user interface is top-notch! It’s very easy to use and it integrates well with the major browsers (download the website version) and mobile devices. A big plus is that there are also apps for Linux and Windows, so if you use a mixture of Mac, Linux, and Windows for work (or otherwise) I would recommend this app over the alternatives. Another major advantage is that you control your password data. The only app that comes close to Enpass is 1password, but 1password doesn’t work for Linux and 1password costs a lot more.
When I choosed restore from iCloud, then click continue, nothing happened. It just didn’t work, no matter what I do.
It says "Compatibility: OS X 10.6.6 or later.." But it doesnt run on it. I DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE OS AT ALL. I NEED TO STICK WITH SNOW LEOPARD. The only available export function produces a stripped down malformatted output that can hardly be used.
Very usable app, but have only 1 format for export - TXT. it is most poor format and if you going to import 100 records from TXT format - you loose tonn of hours to complete this job. You couldn`t switch to another programm, for example - to KeePass. Import from KeePass doesn`t work too. Just only step by step, edit every line by hands if you use common csv format. You couldn`t create a new category. But for using just on mac - nice app.
Good app, Useful folders and sympathetic design. Simple but with a lot of details.
The app is maintained and evolving. It handles a store of cards containing name - value pairs called fields. Fields can be of different types like URL or text or long text (note). The set of fields is editable on a per card basis. On creation, each card gets a tag called “category”. Later on more tags can be added or removed. Cards can be filtered out by tag and further by title. The UI calls additional tags “folders” but the absence of nested folders and ability to put a record into multiple folders reveal their true nature of a tag. There are many predefined templates for records in each category. The cards store can be protected by a password and synched with several clouds. The set of templates assumes you are storing password related data like logins or pin codes; values of several field types can be hidden and copied to the clipboard without revealing the value. This is why the app is marketed as a password manager. This setup allows for nice mobile UI (on many mobile platforms) and is more than sufficient to store passwords (or other compact card like data) used by a person. Desktop versions (including Windows) of the app just allow to use your mobile data, this is why they are free “for a limited time”. There may be better alternatives for OS X only or OS X / iOS environments. However, if your needs do not exceed the capabilities of mobile devices, the app is perfectly usable exclusively on a Mac. An old version had an interesting bug: if you chage the store password and synch with clouds, your other devices will ask for the old password. If that is already forgotten, you will have to reinstall the app and go through extra tricks on a Windows desktop. Even if that is fixed in the latest version, this critical bug may reappear, so be aware. The app is nearly feature complete. The most evident enhancements are editable categories and templates, multiple stores with different cloud synchronization, search for records by field names and values, and tag managment with search for cards with multiple tags or no tags.
Webdav/ownCloud sync has been totally broken with this «update», both on Mac and PC.
Everything seams ok, except that sometimes it loose the sync for a while (I’m using Dropbox). Maybe better icons are welcome.
This app is very good, but 4.6.0 version is really full of bugs: it doesn’t save user’s preferences, cloud sync included, and sometimes it close itself with an error. Moreover, the new Yosemite interface shows icons bigger than buttons (perhaps it wasn’t tested on a Retina display). ASAP these problems will be solved, I think I’ll give a 5 star to Enpass.
this app in her latest version doesn’t work anymore! i contact the support to get the bug fix but after a precompiled answer i didn’t get answers. I hope that Enpass has still OS X developers guy to fix the bug because i can’t export my data. For now i must use my mobile to read the passwords, it’s a great trouble for me!
I use this app on all my devices and it works seamlessly! I like the choice to sync data manually for extra security though synching through other means like iCloud, etc. is very secure and simple. Input data and save. Its’ really that simple! Encryption is sound and updates come at a reasonable rate. There was a small bug in the ios app last week and it was addressed and fixed within 5 days (most of that time was probably spent awaiting Apple approval. The password generator is a huge bonus and the app will even tell you how old or weak your passwords are. Having an app forum for customers to contact the devs is a great addition. All and all I an’t say enough good things about the app. There is much more positive stuff I could add but it would just bore the reader.
This app is great I use it everday… its secure and efficient. And I get to maintain some 30 character passwords which to me is much better than using the same password for every site. Thanks.
A great app that is on all platforms. Love the features and ability to sync to your dropbox or iCloud. Simple and easy to use!
I love this app because of its ability to sync between devices. It makes it as easy as possible to get all my passwords everywhere.
Clean design and usability, easy to sync and insert new data. In comparison to the 1Password i think it might be a great option considering their prices. Anyway there is some features i would like to see: browser extensions, file storage (photos and docs) and the slide system to unlock on iOS. Without any of this resources it is not fully useful for me.
This app has a very easy to use interface. It does the job and does it well. Would recommend to anyone.
Surprised to see cleartext item names in the Dropbox file. Granted all the really sensitive stuff is encrypted, but if you use your bank and credit card names as the names of your items (sort of a logical thing to do), then anyone with access to that file can see that information. Company says they’ll fix this in a future version. We’ll see. Otherwise it’s a convenient app.
Exceptional App!!!
